3D Animation - Inspiration

I've been really racking my brain to come up with a decent animation for my 3D class. I woke up this morning with what I think is a great idea. My inspiration is from the movie, Close Encounters of the Third Kind. I really love the idea of two things interacting musically. It could set up a dramatic scene without the use of dialogue to convey a message.

My idea is to use the music but to go with something more terrestial. I'm going to use a scene of mushrooms interacting with fireflys. I'll get some sketches up shortly.
